A general interest in cognition and high level of commitment to the lab (demonstrated by willingness to spend at least 15-20 hours per week engaged in data collection/analysis/learning the literature as wells as collaboration with other lab members, including undergraduate research students). Ideally thesis students should begin working with me immediately upon entering the program. This way they can become involved in ongoing research studies. This level of early integration with our ongoing projects will facilitate new ideas to be pursued in independent Thesis projects. Additionally, all of the research in the lab involves some degree of computational thinking (computer coding/programming) and this often comes with a steep learning curve for students without this experience so a commitment to learning computer programming is essential to their success.
